Conte bis: Rome invaded by the tricolor with timid newscasts, almost in silence

Donation campaign

(by John Blackeye) Inside Palazzo Montecitorio, the Prime Minister in charge has rattled off the points of the government program that should decide the fate of Italy for the next few years. They pretend not to understand that the newly appointed government does not represent the will of the people but a small minority. Ignoring the voice of millions of Italians, they followed the regulatory requirements to install an executive that goes against the plebiscite of the Italian people. The Italian Republic is now able to generate non-representative governments that are the result of political decisions by an "elite" of decision makers.

To ignore the ferment of the people, the real one, they cordoned off Piazza Montecitorio to prevent tens of thousands of protesters from freely demonstrating in the square in front of the Chamber of Deputies.

But they can't keep away the screams of the people who are shouting in unison: "Elections! Elections! ".

Outside the palace of power, where it is believed that the will of the people is a minor detail that can be overcome with normative laws, tens of thousands of people, under a September sun, have left their business, their things, their cities, for to shout to the "political nomenclature" that the popular will must always be respected - and not only when it suits the area of the parliamentary left.

The institutions responded by blocking Palazzo Montecitorio and creating the desert in front of its main entrance, but all the access roads are full of ordinary people who are singing the National Anthem with flags in their hands.

Families with children, elderly, young and old arrive on the spot. Who has a flag in his hands, who has the tricolor on his shoulder. There is concern in people's eyes. The system does not want there to be problems in the appointment of a government that does not represent the Italian people. Surely the Newscasts will devote to these tens of thousands of Italian heroes, a few seconds of news in which they will broadcast stunted images or collected in other adjacent places, to show that few were demonstrating. It's all part of a script already seen.
When there is the left in the Government, all the newscasts displayed show roses and flowers to so many poor people who feed only on television.

The reality today in Rome is this

Tens of thousands of protesters make their voices heard. Someone from the windows of the building looks out to see more closely the extent of the phenomenon. It was enough to see some curtains moving behind a window that started a stadium choir: "Buffoons, Buffoons! ".
From the neighboring areas other people are joining those who for about an hour are shouting to the President that they want to vote.
The Institutions are now a deaf ear, with a coup they have returned to power. They can't believe their eyes. But in seventy years of Republican history, something like this has never been seen: ordinary people are in the streets!

Today tens of thousands, tomorrow there could be millions all over Italy.
