School, Ministry at work on a single digital platform Azzolina: "We accelerate innovation, we build the school of the future"

A single platform, integrated with all the services and functionalities useful for schools, from tools for digital teaching to spaces for storing content. This is foreseen by the Ministry of Education which, in recent weeks, has set up a working group to guarantee the institutes the new tool in a short time, within the next school year. The group reunited today.

The project was born as a result of the experience gained during the first stages of the health emergency, in which the different endowment of schools with digital systems useful for activating experiences such as that of distance learning emerged. The Ministry, during the emergency, given the absence of a public platform, which has never been created in the past, immediately took steps to make available to schools solutions that can be used free of charge, through public notices addressed to companies.

After the first emergency phase, work is now being done on a national platform which will be made available to all schools. For the realization of the project, the Ministry is involving, from below, also through the tool of interviews in the field, the school staff. The goal is to build the new platform with the collaboration of those who will then have to use it.

“We work at the school of the future - underlines the Minister of Education Lucia Azzolina -. Digitization processes are fundamental. They were before the emergency, they are even more so today, in a period in which we have learned that having or not having certain tools, knowing or not knowing how to use them can really make a difference for the education of our female students and our students. We build tools today that will be useful tomorrow. We have a duty to do so. This emergency has taught us that has imposed an acceleration on digital. We must take up this challenge and make it a lever to look at a more innovative school, projected towards the future, with students increasingly at the center ”.
