Air navigation services: renewal of the agreement between ENAV and the Italian Air Force

The agreement was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of ENAV SpA, Eng. Paolo Simioni, and by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Force General Aurelio Colagrande

On Monday 27 June, the Chief Executive Officer of ENAV and the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Force met at the General Staff of the Armed Force, in Rome, to seal the renewal of the Agreement between ENAV and the Air Force (AM).

The agreement confirms the need for an ever closer cooperation aimed at the safety and security of air traffic between the civil society for the supply of national air navigation services (SNA) and the Armed Force, responsible for the supply of NSAs in the airspace of competence. .

The agreement is enriched with new areas of collaboration responding to today's scenarios that see new users using the Italian airspace. Indeed, the parties shared the need to jointly develop interoperability criteria in U-SPACE / UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management), the working environment of remotely piloted aircraft, or drones, and procedures to ensure compliance with the respective institutional tasks. They also agreed to enhance their respective experiences and skills to optimize the management of airspace during suborbital flights and the exclusive competence of the Armed Force in the field of space weather, space weather.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding reinforces the intention of ENAV and AM to continue to support and strengthen the “country system” in areas of common interest with ever greater synergy.

General Colagrande, on the sidelines of the event, underlined: "Today the close collaboration between the Armed Force and ENAV is renewed in the field of area navigation services and Air Traffic Management in Italy. Furthermore, the commitment is strengthened in view of the challenges represented by the expansion of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and the activity of suborbital and space flight, aware that the security and defense aspects are the prerequisite for the development of any private activity. and commercial".
