DonorsNati State Police and the Rotary Club Fiumicino Portus Augusti together for an important stage.
A way to underline the importance of networking in the area to increasingly orient young people and citizens towards volunteering and blood donation. A mission that sees men and women of the State Police and Fire Brigade engaged on a daily basis throughout the national territory. An example and a commitment to pass on to the younger generations: blood cannot be reproduced in the laboratory and it becomes essential to donate it for first aid services, for surgical operations, organ transplants, in the treatment of oncological and chronic diseases.
Prevention, Health and Solidarity become key words to increasingly spread the culture of giving and, thus, an extraordinary blood collection has been organized for Friday 17 November in the space in front of the IIS Paolo Baffi in via Lorenzo Bezzi, n. 53. An invitation to carry out a true gesture of love, a blood drive aimed at the entire community. It will be possible to donate blood with the support of specialized medical personnel from the IFO – Regina Elena on board a blood vehicle from the Lazio Region from 8:00 to 12:30.
At 10.45am there will be a concert by the State Police brass band which will accompany part of the morning with music.
“An example is worth a thousand words for young people: it is essential to build a society based on cooperation and solidarity, aiming for an increasingly profitable involvement of institutions, families and volunteer associations. Donating blood is a gesture of solidarity for others and prevention for oneself. I am convinced that solidarity helps build a better society. These initiatives, and I thank the Rotary Club Fiumicino Portus Angusti and the IIP Baffi for their precious support, are an opportunity to train "supportive adults" in which the concept of altruism and attention to others is aware and encourages giving of blood, essential for saving human lives: a gesture of solidarity, voluntary, responsible, of a good citizen well integrated into the social fabric” – states Claudio Saltari National President of DonatoriNati.
“As president of the Rotary Club Fiumicino Portus Augusti – commented Fulvio Leoni, I express great satisfaction in having succeeded, in synergy with the “DonatoriNati” association of the State Police, with the Rotaract Club Roma Nord and with the Istituto Superiore Paolo Baffi di Fiumicino, thanks also to the availability and sensitivity of the director of the institute Monica Bernard, who accepted our request for collaboration and promoted the information campaign on the importance of blood donations, to organize this important event. I also thank the Municipality of Fiumicino for its patronage which has further strengthened the quality of the initiative. “The objective of this event – continues Leoni – is to raise awareness among high school students of the importance of donating blood and plasma as a simple gesture of solidarity and of irreplaceable value, with a view to guaranteeing survival and access to the care of patients who need transfusions, even in emergency situations, as well as guaranteeing suitable production of medicines for the treatment of patients with immunodeficiencies and other pathologies. Motivate blood and plasma donation as a tangible tool to save lives. Together with the “DonatoriNati” Association we are working to replicate this initiative in other institutions, promoting a better culture of giving.”
