Summary of the defeat in Afghanistan: "It is not possible to export democracy and Islam does not adapt to democracy"

(by John Blackeye) "A touching and extraordinary moment with the closing of a significant chapter in our history. 20 years of national effort have come to an end which have seen the dedication and spirit of sacrifice of our more than 50.000 men and women in uniform who have alternated over these long years and I want to remember with gratitude the 723 wounded and with deep emotion the 53 Italian victims who they lost their lives in the service of the Republic and to bring stabilization and peace to Afghanistan", Our defense minister said, Lorenzo Guerini, a few months ago at the conclusion of the Italian military mission in Afghanistan.

An aseptic message with no references to results and no final reports, all centered on the effort of the Italian military contingent employed in that inaccessible geographical area.
The reality is coming out in these hours. It's about a immense defeat. Perhaps that was the reason why there was no one to welcome the last soldiers of the Italian contingent returning from Afghanistan. A great lesson if not a great blow to the Western world, just look at the images that the media around the world are broadcasting from Afghanistan in these last hours.
The immediate abandonment of that territory had left standing a fictitious organization of a state supported by international coalitions that is melting like snow in the sun in the face of the advance of the Taliban.
There are no words but one to define the Afghan mission: failure. A total failure.
Defense Minister Guerini recalled i 723 soldiers wounded and 53 victims. A massacre but the tragedy in the tragedy at this point is to note that all the efforts, all the resources spent to try to give a democratic identity to that Region, have not served any purpose.
The greatest lesson of all time to be learned from this unfortunate experience is that democracy cannot be exported. But the even more important thing, from a perspective, is to consider that this statement is also valid in reverse and that is, Islam does not adapt to democracy even when it lands with rubber boats on our shores. And we should treasure this.
Decades of struggles with what had been identified as the evil to be eradicated to then understand that the culture and mentality of an Islamic people cannot be undermined. They remain intact regardless of any effort made also in terms of progress, health support and well-being. It is useless. They want to stay that way, with their culture and their mentality. Indeed, with their non-culture.
At this point one wonders if next time it is appropriate to follow Allies who, let's not forget, had entered Afghanistan to avenge the attacks of 11 September 2001. The secondary objective was to then try to normalize a variegated society like the Afghan one and so anchored to the principles of a religion: it turned out to be a truly mission impossible. The Russians did not succeed, the Americans did not succeed with all those allies who have left a heavy contribution in terms of human lives on those arid and dangerous lands.
Not even the exit was programmed to the levels required by the tradition of Western nations. The US President Biden to give greater media coverage to a political decision that cuts sharply with the past, he announced the withdrawal of the military from Afghanistan, without calculating that theThousand Headed Hydra it was not dormant. So for an effective media stunt, the Americans were the first to be forced to evacuate the Embassy with the help of helicopters on the roofs. What a fool. They didn't even save face but we ran away.
Moral. No one is able to rewrite the history of the world and if someone tries to do so they make mistakes and decisions that lead to disastrous side effects as a result.
Another page of world history can be turned but it is certainly one of the ugliest written at the beginning of this third millennium.
