Steve Bannon: "Salvini and the Lega will dictate the rules in Europe"

Steve Bannon, in an interview with "Il Messaggero" traces the analysis of the Italian political situation, in relation to the upcoming European elections up to mention the newly elected Brazilian president Bolsonaro who judges, together with Matteo Salvini and Trump, the main world politicians defenders of Judeo-Christian values.

Matteo Salvini announced that in mid-April he will organize a major demonstration in Rome with the main European sovereign parties in view of the elections. The leader of the League - explains Bannon - has an extraordinary leadership, he has managed to transform the League from a regional party to not only a national force but to what in the United States we call a worldwide brand, bringing the League from 5 percent to becoming the first party in Europe and will elect the largest number of representatives to the European Parliament.

"I'm sure". The League in Italy has already passed the consensus of the Rassemblement National in France and will be the pivot of a great alliance at European level with the main sovereign parties that will unhinge the Franco-German duopoly that has governed in Europe in recent years and will finally give life to the Europe of Nations.

An alliance that will take its cue from the agreement between Lega and M5S, which has made Italy a political laboratory on a global level ”. However, Trump's election took place before the Lega-M5S alliance: "It is true, but my hope is that a government similar to the Italian one with an anti-establishment alliance between Trump and the members of the Democratic Party close to Bernie Sanders who have the interests of the people at heart ”.

Trump's former adviser was among the first to advocate the formation of the yellow-green government and, in the excited phases after the elections of March 4, 2018, he played a role in convincing Salvini to ally with the M5S.

Just like Trump in the United States - he says - in Italy too the government is clashing with a well-established establishment, it takes time to achieve important results. To restart the Italian economy, more deregulation is needed, it is not possible that an important nation like Italy has for years had zero growth, your economy - which is made up of extraordinary excellence represented by small and medium-sized enterprises and made in Italy - must return to being competitive by stopping the brain drain. "The recipe for producing growth is tax cuts by promoting investment and greater market deregulation." However, this is an economic vision that is antithetical to what is proposed by the M5S with the citizenship income which is a welfare measure.

In this regard, Bannon points out that citizenship income is not sustainable in the long run, growth comes from less bureaucracy, enabling entrepreneurs to work paying less taxes. Basically he is proposing a Flat tax. "The Flat tax is not the panacea for all ills but it represents an important start, I talked about it with Armando Siri, whose book I already knew a few years ago on the subject". As for the other Italian sovereign party, Fratelli d'Italia, and on its leader Giorgia Meloni, the American political scientist considers Meloni one of the best contemporary policies, he was very impressed when he met her and participated in Atreju, the convention of the Brothers of Italy in Rome in September. "Anyone who claims that the Brothers of Italy is a fascist party is talking nonsense, it is a party of patriots who love Italy". Now - he adds - the priority is the upcoming European elections in which the future of the continent is at stake and it is necessary to build a great alliance in an anti-establishment key in which Italy has a central role thanks to the charisma and leadership of Matteo Salvini. "What struck me most in the electoral campaign of past policies is the closeness between the Italian people and Salvini and Di Maio, in opposition to the bureaucrats who destroyed the Italian and European economy, a scheme that should also be repeated on May 26 ”Concluded Bannon.
