The Guardian: British police and intelligence departed from blame

It was not the fault of the police and MI5 (the counterintelligence service) if they failed to prevent the bloody terrorist attacks that hit the United Kingdom this year: this is confirmed by the internal investigations launched after the series of attacks, according to as anticipated by the newspaper "The Guardian" which however criticizes the fact that the security forces were allowed to investigate themselves, albeit under the supervision of an independent lawyer. However, the newspaper stresses that a series of recommendations emerged from the "review" carried out in order to make the fight against terrorism more efficient and be able to prevent new attacks: greater coordination between the police and secret services and a better system for analyzing the data obtained from activity of suspected terrorists via the internet or mobile phones. In particular, it is suggested the development of a new algorithm able to probe the digital life of 20 thousand suspicious people and to alert the police in real time in the event that even the slightest possibility that they are preparing an attack is detected: currently there are only 3 terrorist suspects under constant monitoring by the British security services.
