Uber Eats launches two new features to help the environment and its consumers

Uber Eats it is increasingly attentive to the needs of its users and the environment. In October it will introduce two new functions in the world and in Italy: from 14 October you can choose to do not receive cutlery and other disposable plastic utensils together with your order, a positive initiative for the environment that will serve to reduce waste; from the 21 Octoberinstead, all people suffering from food allergies will be able to use a special one filter that will help you find restaurants and dishes to order.

NO PLASTIC OPTION

Uber Eats joins the struggle to reduce the use of disposable plastic introducing the option of renouncing cutlery and straws. In the coming months, from 14 October in Italy, to receive disposable utensils to consume your own dish it will be necessary to make a specific request on the app since the restaurants will no longer include them by default in the order. A small step of great importance to reduce the impact of food delivery on our planet.

 FILTER FOR ALLERGENS

With millions of people suffering from food allergies in the world, Uber Eats has decided to introduce a new system to facilitate the choice of a restaurant or dish for this important category of users. Thanks to the appropriate filter it will be possible locate allergy friendly restaurants and, during the choice of a dish people will be able to communicate your allergens and food restrictions through the application. In the event that your request cannot be satisfied, the restaurant will notify you an alternative dish that meets your needs. This new system, which is part of an extensive Uber Eats commitment project to its users, will be available from September 30 in San Francisco for later spread in all the cities where the 21 October application is present.
