The emergency medical transport was carried out with a HH-139A helicopter from the 85th SAR Combat Center of Pratica di Mare.
Late yesterday evening a 60-year-old man in imminent danger of life was transported from Capri to Naples aboard an Air Force HH-139A helicopter to be admitted to the "Antonio Cardarelli" Hospital of the Campania capital.
The request for urgent medical transport was received by the Prefecture of Naples at the Summit Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, the operations room of the Air Force which also has among its tasks to organize and manage this kind of transport throughout the territory national.
The Summit Situation Room has therefore activated a HH-139A helicopter of the 85th Combat SAR Center (Search and Rescue - Search and Rescue), one of the assets that the Armed Force keeps ready 24 hours a day for this kind of need.
At about 22 pm the helicopter took off from the Pratica di Mare airport, home of the 30th Center, in the direction of Capri, where the patient was then boarded together with a medical team for assistance during the flight.
Having left the island of Campania, at 23:16 pm the helicopter landed in a pitch of the Cardarelli hospital for the subsequent transfer of the patient to the health facility.
The 85th SAR Combat Center is part of the 15 ° Stormo, a Flight Department of the Italian Air Force based in Cervia, in the province of Ravenna.
With its Combat SAR Centers, the 15 ° Stormo guarantees throughout the national territory and in the territorial and international waters around Italy, 24 hours a day, 24 days a year, the search and rescue of flight crews in difficulty. .
