“Strengthening students' reading skills crucial for an inclusive European Education Area”
Minister Valditara actively intervened in the political debate of the Council of Ministers of Education of the European Union, underway in Brussels, on the theme of the importance of reading for learning, the personal growth of young people, their participation in society and their professional realization.
The Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening initiatives, both at national and European level, to ensure that every student has the opportunity to develop reading and text comprehension skills. This is a fundamental issue for building a truly inclusive European Education Area.
To this end, in Italy we are investing in the construction of innovative environments for reading and in innovative libraries, to reaffirm the book as a fundamental tool for learning.
