Yesterday morning the Carabinieri of the Valmontone station, on the occasion of the party organized by the Municipality of Valmontone for the start of the activities of the elderly social center "Dr. Paolo Brizzi”, they provided useful advice to the elderly people who attended.
About 70 people attended the meeting. The event was much appreciated by the elderly community because in addition to the useful advice provided by the carabinieri it was also an opportunity to dialogue with them, who often become victims precisely because of their lower defense capacity, to discuss with the aim of strengthening mutual trust and induce them to report any scam attempts committed by telephone to the emergency numbers.
The Carabinieri illustrated the main techniques and scams used by criminals to enter homes, explaining how to deal with the risks and what behavior to adopt in the event of suspicious situations, distributing an information leaflet in this regard.
The Carabinieri recommends maximum family dialogue between young and old to encourage real preventive awareness, which can be strengthened by domestic exchanges on the topic.
