“Development passes through education: we must put the school at the center for common growth” declared Giuseppe Valditara, Minister of Education and Merit, during his speech at the Fourth Session of the Italy – Africa Summit “A bridge for common growth”, dedicated to professional education and training and cultural promotion. In addition to Minister Valditara, the meeting was attended by the Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini, the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano and numerous leaders and ministers of various African countries.

“Our education model, with the reform of technical and professional institutes and the strengthening of STEM subjects, is of great value – added Minister Valditara – and we are working with some nations on the African continent to develop collaboration on the issues of technical and vocational education. The objective is to train qualified technicians to contribute to the development of the territories and to the support of Italian as well as local companies. We must seize the opportunity of this Summit – concludes Valditara – to reposition schools at the center of the global agenda and promote the right to education for everyone, without exception. We have decided to invite the African Union, which dedicates 2024 to Education, to the work of the G7 Education".
