Abi. Stop the collection of mortgages disbursed for buildings that cannot be used after the 2016 earthquake

The President of ABI, Antonio Patuelli, and the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Government for the 2016 earthquake reconstruction, Giovanni Legnini, sent a letter with joint signature to the Prime Minister and the competent Ministers to request the urgent adoption of the extension of the suspension of installments of mortgages and other loans relating to buildings still uninhabitable after the 2016 earthquake.

The extension of the suspension, which expired on 31 December 2021, is necessary in order to continue to support the population hit by the earthquake of five years ago, also taking into account the effects of the pandemic that has taken new force in recent months.

The ABI and the Commissioner, in particular, have recognized the need for the Government to intervene on the matter with a new provision, given that the conversion times of the Milleproroghe Decree, currently being examined by Parliament, are expected to be more extended.
