The 6th edition of the Grest 2022 (Summer Group) of the Parish of Santa Maria Maggiore and San Rocco di Pofi (FR) with an evening ceremony in the presence of the mayor, Dr. Angelo Mattaccia, of the parish priest don Joseph Said and a representative of 72 ° Stormo of the Italian Air Force.
Mayor Mattoccia and Don Said, in front of a large audience made up of the Grest boys and their families, addressed special thanks to the Air Force for contributing to the success of Grest 2022.
The 72nd Wing of Frosinone received a plaque of thanks for having opened to the young people of the dioceses of Frosinone, included in the summer groups, their sports facilities in the logistics area where this year, after two years of closure due to the pandemic, the airport swimming pool has also been reopened.
The initiative therefore represented a moment of fundamental importance for social aggregation not only for the parish of Pofi, but also for six other parishes of the Diocese of Frosinone and for the boys of Unitalsi: young and very young people were able to take advantage of the sports spaces of the logistics area of the Base, thus spending a day of joy and insertion different from the ordinary ones because, during their stay, they were able to appreciate various take-offs and landings as well as flyovers of the helicopters present in the facing wing operating area.
The 72 ° Stormo, the only school in the rotary wing sector in Italy, is the Department dependent on the Military Air Force Schools Command / 3 ^ Air Region of Bari which trains the helicopter pilots of the Arma Azzurra, of the other Armed Forces and Armed Corps of the State, as well as foreign visitors. The inter-force and inter-agency synergy, developed in the field of training at the Helicopter School of Frosinone, is part of the perspective of continuous improvement of training and contextual optimization of resources.
