The rescue of the injured person was carried out with a HH-139B helicopter of the 82 ° C / SAR Center in cooperation with a team of the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps
In the afternoon of today 8 August, a crew of the 82 ° CSAR Center (Combat Search and Rescue - Search and Rescue) of the 15 ° Stormo dell'Aeronautica Militare, stationed in Trapani, carried out the recovery of an injured tourist in Cala Capreria in the Zingaro Nature Reserve (TP).
The crew, in readiness of alarm with the HH-139B helicopter, received the mission order from the Operations Room of the Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) in Poggio Renatico (FE) and took off from Trapani airport shortly before 15pm : 30 to embark in Castellammare del Golfo two technicians of the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps of Sicily. Once embarked, the military helicopter immediately went to the intervention area where, in consideration of the particularly inaccessible area, the man was recovered through the use of the winch.
Once on board and safely, the injured was transported to Castellammare del Golfo where he was entrusted to the care of the 118. After the intervention, the crew returned to Trapani to resume the readiness service at 16.30. SAR.
The 82nd Center is one of the Departments of the 15th Wing of the Italian Air Force which guarantees, 24 hours a day, 24 days a year, without interruption, the search and rescue of flight crews in difficulty, competing, moreover, to activities of public utility such as the search for missing persons at sea or in the mountains, the emergency medical transport of patients in danger of life and the rescue of seriously traumatized patients, also operating in extreme weather conditions. From its establishment to today, the crews of the 365 ° Stormo have saved more than 15 people in danger of life. Since 7500, the Department has acquired the AIB (Forest Fire Protection) capacity, contributing to the prevention and fight against fires in Sicily.
