The agents of the State Police of the Padua Police Headquarters, on Christmas Day 25 December, arrested an Italian who attempted sexual violence against a student of Lebanese origin.
The young woman, just over 20 years old, had remained in Italy alone for the holidays because the journey to return to her country and home to her family would have been too long and expensive for her.
A couple of days before Christmas she met a 27-year-old warehouse worker online who offered to meet her to get to know each other and to keep her company during the holidays.
Confident that the young man, during their telephone conversations, appeared affectionate and protective, she decided to meet him.
The two had seen each other for the first time in the city centre, and then arranged to meet on Christmas Eve at her house.
On December 24, however, after having dinner together, the girl began to feel ill and he advised her to take a shower.
So, while she was in the bathroom, the 27-year-old attempted an initial physical approach, even trying to enter the shower undressed and photographing her with his cell phone, but the young woman managed to push him away.
The same man, however, had once again taken advantage of her state of discomfort by managing to grope her private parts.
Tried and scared by the situation, the twenty-year-old found the strength to push him away, making him leave the house and thinking that it was all over.
After only a few minutes, however, he started receiving messages from the young man; not apologies, but threats: by the early hours of the next morning she would have to go to his house to have sexual intercourse with him, otherwise he would publish the photos taken in the shower and send them to all his friends and even his parents .
Despite the numerous attempts made by the girl to make him desist from his intent, the man did not stop threatening her until, now terrified by what was happening, the girl decided to contact 113.
Investigations were immediately activated by the agents of the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters, managing to identify the young man and trace his home.
In a few minutes the investigators, together with the operators of the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office - Flying Squad, arrived at the 27-year-old's house and found him while he was still intent on sending threatening messages to the girl.
In the house he also had 25 grams of marijuana, two toy guns without the red caps and two large switchblade knives, all seized by the officers who intervened.
As the crime of attempted sexual violence was flagrantly committed, the young man was arrested and also reported for the violence committed the previous evening and for possession of the narcotic.
At the end of the ritual duties, the 27-year-old was associated with the local "Due Palazzi" prison at the disposal of the proceeding Public Prosecutor's Office of Padua.
