Ravenna - maxi operation by the State Police Street Bullying, Faenza gang defeated

Since the early hours of today, a State Police operation has been underway in Faenza aimed at combating the so-called phenomenon of street bullying.

The PS Commissariat of Faenza, together with personnel from the Flying Squad, executed the application order of ten personal precautionary measures issued by the GIP of the Court of Ravenna against a gang of young people from Faenza following two separate attacks perpetrated in the street, outside public places and businesses in the Ravenna capital, to the detriment of peers.

The investigations, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Ravenna, have in fact made it possible to identify and defeat a group made up of a dozen young people, aged between 20 and 23, all resident in Faenza, of whom four were Italian and eight second generation foreigners originating from North Africa and South America who, in recent months, have distinguished themselves for acts of bullying, prevarication and outright violence outside public places in the Faenza area.

In particular, some suspects, with various specific precedents, against property and related to drugs, on the night of 22 October 2023, outside a nightclub in Faenza, after an argument that took place inside the club, attacked ferociously with kicks and punched a young foreigner, causing him to suffer a skull fracture that required him to be admitted to hospital, initially with a guarded prognosis, at the Bufalini hospital in Cesena.

Some of the same young people subsequently turned out to be protagonists of a further episode which occurred on the following 10 December 2023, when, in the same centre, outside a public establishment, they surrounded an Italian citizen in the street and attacked him, causing injuries, due to a probable settling of scores always arose from an argument that took place in the nightclub in the previous month of September.

At the end of the investigations, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the GIP at the Court of Ravenna issued ten personal precautionary measures, of which 2 under house arrest and 8 subjected to the obligation to stay and stay at the domicile at certain times against as many people, involved in various capacities in the crime of multiple aggravated injuries.
