An event dedicated to the school, as a place for sharing the culture of legality, and to memory, to commemorate, on the thirtieth anniversary of his sacrifice, Antonino Scopelliti, Deputy Attorney General at the Supreme Court of Cassation, assassinated by the mafias on 9 August 1991.
Tomorrow, Thursday 29 July, at 11.00, the commemoration ceremony of the Reggio magistrate will take place at the Ministry of Education. On this occasion, the students awarded in the first two editions of the competition for the assignment of scholarships named after the magistrate and established by the will of their daughter Rosanna and the Antonino Scopelliti Foundation, which she chaired, will share their experience.
Speakers will be the Minister of Education, Patrizio Bianchi, Rosanna Scopelliti, the Head of the Department for the education and training system of the Ministry, Stefano Versari. The Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria, Giuseppe Falcomatà, the Mayor of Campo Calabro (RC), Sandro Repaci, and the awarded students will participate in videoconference.
The meeting will be broadcast live on the Ministry's YouTube channel and will also be available on the Foundation's Facebook page.
Also this year, scholarships have been made available to the winners of the competition for students in the fifth grade of primary school, third grade of lower secondary school and for the two-year period of upper secondary school. Candidates and candidates were asked to create an artistic-literary and / or multimedia elaborate on the theme of the diffusion of the internet, social networks and digital platforms that have favored profound transformations in the production and distribution processes of news and in the use information. Girls and boys were asked to try their hand at poetry or prose compositions, works of figurative art (painting, drawing, photography, graphics), videos or short films, music, to explain which paths of legality can be taken to increase the level of attention and analysis towards the contents present online. Always with the aim of promoting the spread of the culture of legality in the younger generations, especially through prevention and the development of awareness and a critical spirit.
The initiative is organized by the Antonino Scopelliti Foundation, in collaboration with the ANP (National Association of Public Managers and High School Professionals), with the patronage of the Ministry of Education and the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria.
