School: "Renewal of the contract with increases and increase in resources for the school are positive and concrete choices"

Yesterday's Council of Ministers formally approved the renewal of the CCNL Education and Research resulting from the agreement between the Ministry of Education and Merit and the social partners.

"I am satisfied, we managed to keep the commitment I had personally made with the unions to bring the approval of the contract to this CdM, to release the arrears by Christmas, which will amount to an average item of over 2000 euros per employee, and implement the salary increases, which will amount to an average item of 124 euros more per month when fully operational". declares Minister Giuseppe Valditara. “This contract concerns over 1 million and 200 thousand workers in the school sector and is undoubtedly the most important and the one that provides for the greatest increases for a long time. The enhancement of teachers was immediately a clear mission of this Ministry: there is no Merit without Dignity”.

"As regards the overall structure of the maneuver, it must be inserted in an emergency context, within which 21 billion out of 35 have been allocated to combating expensive energy, to concretely support the middle class attacked by the crisis and families, including naturally also those of the teachers”, continues the Minister. “In this situation, however, the government's attention to the education system has not failed: in fact, we have managed to obtain around 500 million in salary increases for the school sector. These resources concern fundamental hubs, including the Fund for the Functioning of Educational Institutions, school construction, personnel recruitment expenses, substitutes, the equal school system, transport for the disabled and the fight against cyberbullying".

"Faced with the energy crisis, the bill emergency and the GDP which marks a 0,3% trend for 2023, compared to +6% at the time when the last budget law was passed, I consider the renewal of the contract to be extremely positive improved conditions and the increase in resources obtained without any cuts. The school is and must increasingly be a strategic axis of the country's development”, concludes the Minister Joseph Vallettara.
