ENI and SIAAIC present the “For Federica” project: a network for food allergy

Eni and SIAAIC (Italian Society of Allergology, Asthma and Clinical Immunology) presented the project "For Federica": a network for food allergy, with the aim of informing, training and sensitizing operators of public establishments for the administration of food and beverages in about allergies. The project will involve restaurateurs, bartenders and operators in the sector through local trade associations.

The progressive increase in people who eat outside the home, the strong development of the delivery service, the growing increase in food intolerances and allergies to substances contained in food makes it increasingly important to have adequate training and awareness on the part not only of restaurateurs but also of population. This is the scenario in which the “For Federica” project fits, born from Eni's desire to honor the daughter of an employee, who died prematurely due to anaphylactic shock caused by an allergic crisis.

The project is configured as a free training initiative, in line with the recommendation of the European regulation, which allows obtaining a certification, attested by the orange sticker 'Here Eat Safe!', To guarantee safety in the preparation of food in operation. food allergies and for the identification of the premises by the approximately 5 million Italians with food allergies or intolerances.

The program includes 4-hour distance training on the SIAAIC Channel, starting from January 2022, and aims, in addition to educating managers and operators of public food and beverage outlets to minimize the risks for allergic customers by offering them safe food and drink, to offer tools and knowledge suitable to be able to recognize the symptoms of an allergy and learn the procedures to be activated in an emergency. Successful completion of the course will give the opportunity to display the orange sticker 'Here Eat Safe!' Outside the venue.
